We’re very happy that we can see Spring just around the corner. After braving the blizzards of the last few weeks, it is good to see the sun and green grass. I suppose we’ll have to get a mower, and I’ll have to get to work.
Everyone here in White City has been very nice. We’ve met a few neighbors by way of the snow storm and a lost dog named Stinky, and Lauren has attended a garden club meeting. I haven’t decided if I’ll be attending those with her, but I look forward to becoming active in the neighborhood association. We’ve met a young couple with whom we share mutual friends, and our immediate neighbors seem like good people.
Our faith community has been growing very close as of late. We’ve had the good fortune of being able to help members of the neighborhoods and have enjoyed getting to know some amazing people. We are excited to see what happens next!
No, not that great Paul Simon song. And no, not a new hyper dog. I’m talking moving boxes. It all looks to be a go for the new house. We expect to close next week and get a move on…get it?
The next two weeks will prove to be a major test of how we perform under pressure. With Christmas coming in 17 days, painting to be done at the house and family coming in town, we’ll be running around like escapees!
Hopefully all goes well and we’ll be snuggly settled come next weekend.

It is really hard to believe Lauren and I just rounded the corner of our first year of marriage. This past year has been great!
Most people we talk to say that the first year is the hardest. If that’s true, then we’re in for the vacation of a lifetime because this year has been so easy. Last Tuesday and Wednesday I finally took the bar exam. It was brutal. For two days I tried my best to amaze the unpredictable bar examiners. I envisioned their jaws dropping as they read each well-crafted and thorough essay, marveling at my legal brilliance. Whether this will actually happen is highly questionable, but I did my best after studying for months, and that’s all I could have hoped for. We get the results in mid-September, and until then I’m gonna forget about it and enjoy life as a happy housewife and stay-at-home dog mama.

This week marks a momentous time in the life of the only remaining law student in our little family. Lauren’s last round of finals (EVER) starts tomorrow! She’s been studying like a total nerd the past few days to get all pumped up to stick it to the man. I’m really excited that this is the beginning of the end, as it were.
